Beautiful Shadows
This is what my mother says when I return to Tunisia. A simple expression, laden with years of absence.
On stage, four dancers and one musician conjure a living ritual. Together, they explore what remains of us when we leave a country, a childhood, a home: the invisible traces that places imprint on our bodies, and that time can never quite erase.
Like the shadow left on a wall by a body that is no longer there, memory persists. It settles into a gesture, the smell of coffee, a song heard in the distance, an inner rhythm we carry everywhere, like a home we have never quite left behind. It emerges without warning, bringing the tumult of the present to a standstill.
After years of exile, what remains of who we once were? How can we rebuild ourselves without losing what we carry within us?
Beautiful Shadows celebrates these shadows of childhood, imprints of memory and identity brought back to life through dance and music.
